MIRACLES IN PROGRESS welcomes you into our internet home, This Little Light of Mine. We rejoice that the Lord has made the provision for us to sit with you awhile and share with you the most wonderful gift anyone could ever give us - the gift of salvation.
The three pictures above represent the Cross, the Light of the World, and Access to the Light.
THE CROSS. This is where Jesus died (as our substitute), freeing us from sin and death. He bore our sins and iniquity, while we had gone astray from the sheltering love of God. Jesus said when we are weak and heavy laden we should come to Him and He will give us rest. But first, we must be "born again" by accepting Jesus as the true son of God. We must confess before him that we are filled with sin, ask forgiveness and repent of that sin, then pick up our cross and follow Him into the life everlasting. The Cross doesn't make us perfect, it simply makes us forgiven.
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Jesus is the Light of the World. God has said it is so, and we believe it! Jesus is the long awaited Messiah. It was foretold the people who walk in darkness will see a great light, it is the long awaited Messiah. It is Jesus Christ. Many are still blind to this, and still wander in the dark - the blind leading the blind. We who have been born again are blessed to have eyes to see and ears to hear the Good News! What is the Good News? That God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. [John 3:16]. What of those who do not believe? God calls them His lost sheep, and He mourns the loss of every one ofthem. Still, there is hope for them, because God has not forgotten them, and He calls us to remember them too. How can Christians do this? Through the light of Jesus - letting it shine through us into a dark world. By loving others the way God loves us.
ACCESS TO THE LIGHT. Every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month and every year.... as long as we walk on this earth, we have total access to the Light. It is referred to as prayer. At MIRACLES IN PROGRESS, we believe that prayers are simply conversations with our Lord, and that the Lord has sent the Comforter [Holy Spirit] to guide and assist us. We all need to soak up the Light! It is healthy for our heart, our mind and our soul.
You may ask who are we, that we could boldly step out and make such proclamations in the name of the Lord. Quite simply, we are Christians, with a long history of trial and error walking through the land of the enemy. Our family has 272 combined years of experience in learning to follow the Light of Jesus. Like everybody else, we have had our ups and downs.. and though it often seemed as though we were on the losing end of things, we learned to let go, let God and in the end see the victory. Are we perfect? No way. God doesn't ask us to be perfect - He just wants us to show up. We run a good race, knowing at the end we will spend eternity with our Lord and find perfection there.
About our family - we are a middle class America family. In the USA that makes us run-of-mill, with no paparazzi offering us photo shots in magazines. We don't worry about PDA, or running to the store in our sweats (well maybe .. seems like that is when I always see everyone I know!). We haven't won acadamy awards, the Nobel Peace Prize, a grammy award - we haven't even been on American Idol or America's Got Talent. People don't applaud when we walk into a room; they don't send limos to pick us up; they don't wait in mass crowds to see our arrival. We probably wouldn't do too well on Jeopardy. Although we are prolific writers, singers, actors, speakers and teachers, we are not faced with folks wanting our autographs (other than Uncle Sam). The phone hasn't been ringing for us to be on Dancing with the Stars, Good Morning America, and we have never been invited to beat each other up on a reality show. Very often our bank account is dangerously close to zero... BUT...
Folks without money, home, food, clothing, medical treatment - folks all over the world would see us as fantastically blessed and wealthy. Folks in restricted government zones would see us, and long for the day when they had our freedoms. Whoever we are, wherever we are, we need to look at the provisions of our mighty God, and be thankful. Enter His courts with praise - by coming to Him with a thankful heart, rather that complaining. This is where we can find our peace and joy in each day.
So, again, why us? And who picked me to be the administrator of this ministry? Truly I say, God did. He called me to duty, and as children of God we are ALL called to minister in His name.. we just have to listen to when, where, why and how. He compelled us to ministry over the years, which led us to launch MIRACLES IN PROGRESS. We will hand our ministry down to our children, and to their children. Like a pebble in a pond, the riffles keep spreading and growing. God put the work order into my hands, and it just didn't seem to matter that I didn't think I was worthy or capable. He said "Come!" The Holy Spirit shows me how, as the Lord draws me further and higher.
Thus the scripture for MIRACLES IN PROGRESS, Isaiah 60:1 "Arise and shine for your God has come, and the glory of the Lord is upon you".
In closing I must add, you should expect lots of hugs. Everything ends with hugs in our home and ministry. To us, a hug is a touch of Jesus. . It is a gift that needs no wrapping or ribbons - you may not remember what is written here, but you will always remember the hug! Think of it as a smile with arms. ♥
